The U.S. Department of Energy has awarded a $1.5 million contract to SwRI to evaluate the safety and efficiency of a full-scale compressor system for hydrogen-natural gas blends with up to 20% hydrogen by volume. The project will utilize a full-scale reciprocating compressor loop at the Institute’s San Antonio campus, rendered in this image.
