Bryan F. Shaw, Ph.D., professor of chemistry and biochemistry at Baylor University, assists high-school students from the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired with chemistry experiments in his accessible lab. Shaw leads a team of researchers who are removing longstanding barriers to the study of chemistry and other central sciences for students with blindness and low vision (BLV), from inaccessible science labs, lack of non-visual educational materials, and technologies not yet optimized for those with visual impairments.
