Texas longhorns - as shown on this picture - originated in India and the Middle East. Later they were introduced to Europe and when Columbus discovered America he brought bulls and cows. Today they are seen as a special Texan breed, but the longhorns are actually not native. Nevertheless they promote plant diversity, new research shows.
