Two rice paddy snakes, Hypsiscopus murphyi sensu and Hypsiscopus plumbeus, are two aquatic snakes that are the focal study taxa in a new Scientific Reports paper. These two snakes were found to have diversified due to a combination of tectonic and environmental mechanisms in Southeast Asia.
