A new study shows that lipid droplets in the leaves contain plant proteins such as different myosin binding proteins involved in intracellular movement, and several enzymes responsible for furan-containing fatty acid biosynthesis—a type of fatty acid production in plants—highlighting previously undiscovered potential molecular functions.
