Trajectories in time traced out by turbulent puffs as they move along a simulated pipe and in experiments, with blue regions indicate the puff "traffic jams." The images on the left are closer to the laminar-turbulent transition than those on the right, so one can clearly see the traffic jams melt away as the directed percolation transition is approached.
