Terahertz frequency conversion could lead to much faster data transfer rates

Terahertz devices will greatly increase the speed at which data can be transferred and processed. In this study, researchers developed a novel strategy to convert the frequency of a terahertz wave traveling in a waveguide to another arbitrary terahertz-range frequency, which is an essential transformation in practical applications.
