Results show that the first-line antidiabetic drug metformin and the second-line sodium glucose co-transporter-2 (SGLT-2) inhibitors lower the risk of dementia and AD. Sulfonylureas significantly increased the risk in women. In patients aged 75 and over DPP4i, metformin, SGLT-2i and sulfonylureas increased the risk. Analysis includes stratification of patient-specific factors, including age, sex, comorbidity, BMI and baseline A1C.
