Lifetime bereavement for the population alive in 2023 by birth cohort/age: The blue line shows the average number of life course conflict offspring deaths experienced by individuals at each age (per 1,000 individuals). The red lines show the same but for loss of parents. The purple line is the sum of the red and blue lines. Higher values indicate a higher prevalence of bereavement for individuals born in a given year who are alive in 2023.
