Characterization and reaction mechanism of the catalyst

The Fe3C-modified Fe-N co-doped carbon nanofiber catalyst features an interconnected network of carbon nanotubes that enhances the exposure of active sites and electron transfer. The constructed Fe3C serves as a water activation site, accelerating the PCET process and significantly enhancing the performance of the ORR.
