Diet quality during adolescence (IMAGE)
Caption
Diet quality was assessed using the Healthy Eating Index (HEI), a common tool for measuring adherence to healthy eating patterns. HEI scores range from 0 to 100 and were grouped as follows:
A: 90 ≤ HEI score ≤ 100;
B: 80 ≤ HEI score < 90;
C: 70 ≤ HEI score < 80;
D: 60 ≤ HEI score < 70;
F: HEI score < 60
The graphs show the three groups identified in the study: 1) those whose diet quality was low throughout adolescence, 2) those whose diet quality declined during adolescence, and 3) those whose diet quality improved during adolescence.
