Paving the way for human eye transplants

Ashutosh Agarwal, associate professor of biomedical engineering, holds the eye-ECMO device that his lab created as part of the whole eye transplant project led by Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. The device was recently able to keep a human eye alive outside of the body for several hours.
