Laser-ablation enables the formation of twinning within PtCo nanoparticles.

A pulsed laser irradiates metal precursors in a graphite crucible, inducing rapid localized heating followed by quenching. This process promotes the formation of PtCo nanoparticles with a high density of twin boundaries.
