Espaitec continues to promote technology and competitiveness among businesses, strengthening its position as a leading technology hub, fostering entrepreneurship, innovation, and knowledge transfer in the society of the province of Castellón.
The Science and Technology Park of the Universitat Jaume I makes a annual monitoring of companies linked to Espaitec through a series of indicators, which detail data related to billing, investment in R&D&I, employability, knowledge transfer and collaboration between university and company, among other aspects.
A total of 557 people carry out their professional activity in the companies located in the Park, being 396 men and 161 womenAmong them, 166 workers carry out skilled employment tasks directly related to research, development and innovation, representing 29,8%.
Regarding the integration of university talent, in 2025 companies linked to Espaitec hosted 101 students for curricular internships. As for the hiring of graduates from Universitat Jaume I, a total of 57 graduates joined the companies in the Park.
Companies and billing
At the close of fiscal year 2025, Espaitec had 52 technology firms linked to the Park, 38 installed and 14 virtually connected to the innovative and technological ecosystem of the Universitat Jaume I. The total revenue of the companies located there amounted to €76.152.058,18. This figure confirms the resilience, strength, and competitiveness of the companies in the Park, taking into account the economic and international situation during the past year, in which the armed conflicts in Ukraine and Palestine stood out.
The investment in R&D&i of the firms installed in Espaitec has been almost 5 millones de eurosSpecifically, €4.937.901,97, a figure that represents a stabilization of investment in resources allocated to research, development, and innovation, aimed at improving technological processes and increasing competitiveness. It is worth highlighting the ability of companies in the Park to maintain funding in this key area for their growth, competitiveness, and improvement of business processes through innovation and technology, taking into account the global political and economic climate.
In 2025, the companies linked to Espaitec, both those physically installed and those virtually connected, They collaborated with research groups from the Universitat Jaume I For an amount close to €200.000, through R&D&I contracts. The companies in the Science and Technology Park collaborate with 15 research groups at the UJI (Jaume I University), representing a 36,4% increase compared to 2024. It should be noted that these types of contracts are specifically for the development of projects or regular collaborations, as well as regular cooperation in activities organized by the Universitat Jaume I, such as giving lectures, participating in workshops, or teaching master's courses.
A total of 21 companies in the Park have Equality Plan in 2025. This represents a 10,5% increase compared to the previous year. All of this is achieved through negotiated action between the company and the legal representatives of the workforce, with the aim of taking the necessary steps to facilitate equal opportunities for women and men within the company.
