Photoredox catalysis enables the generation of radical intermediates under mild conditions, yet photoredox catalysts have heavily relied on precious transition metal complexes. Researchers now report a highly photooxidative heteroleptic copper(II) complex for promoting anti-Markovnikov hydration of alkenes.
