Dual Pt sites accelerate alkaline hydrogen evolution. Schematic illustration of the Pt/TiO₂ QDs/Co₃O₄ catalyst during the alkaline hydrogen evolution reaction. The β-Pt sites promote H₂O dissociation, while the α-Pt sites facilitate hydrogen adsorption and H₂ release, enabling faster reaction kinetics through coordinated Volmer–Heyrovsky steps.
