Compared to participants in the whole-slide presentation condition (in which information is displayed all at once), participants in the cumulative presentation condition (in which visual information appears in alignment with the relevant verbal explanations) directed their gaze to relevant information earlier and sustained that attention for a longer time and also received higher post-presentation test scores.
