Based on the HSAB theory, when the pristine Mn3O4 adsorbs LiPSs, the O atoms preferentially adsorb Li atoms in LPSs through the “hard to hard” interactions. In contrast, the Mn atoms in the softened Mn3O4 via Co9S8 electron injection adsorb the S atoms in LiPSs by “soft to soft” orbital interactions.
