Each grid cell represents approximately 100,000 km² (displayed in the Global Mercator projection) and is coloured by the deforestation-to-mining area ratio (deforestation area/mining area, %): 0, 10-20, 20-30, 30-40, 40-50, 50-60, 60-70, 70-80, 80-90, and 90-100, with darker colours indicating higher ratios. Grey areas indicate locations without mapped mining cells for the respective commodity.
