Controlling and utilizing the 2D material-metal contact interfaces (IMAGE)
Caption
Schematic illustration of the Schottky barrier at a 2D material-metal interface. The barrier can act as a performance bottleneck in transistors or a functional element in photodetectors, depending on how it is engineered. The image shows the atomic structures of typical 2D materials such as graphene and transition metal dichalcogenides, as well as the band structures and I-V characteristic curves of Ohmic and Schottky contacts. It also presents the core principles of mainstream interface regulation technologies including vdW transferred electrodes, edge contacts, and atomic layer bonding, intuitively reflecting the design and optimization ideas of the contact interface between 2D materials and metal electrodes.
