Real-world spectral mapping of tandem solar-cell performance. This schematic shows how the study evaluated two-terminal (2T) perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells under globally varying sunlight conditions. Outdoor spectral data from four representative photovoltaic climate zones—Haikou, Albuquerque, Yancheng, and Daqing—were fed into a spectral analysis and modeling framework to estimate tandem-cell performance, unit-area energy yield, and levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) relative to tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) silicon cells. The results show that, despite spectral mismatch losses, 2T tandem modules can deliver 8.74%–11.16% higher annual energy yield per unit area, while their LCOE advantage varies by region.
