Covalently bridged organic semiconductor/dielectric interface in an alkylated organic transistor (IMAGE)
Caption
The insulating alkyl chains of the C10-DNTT molecule function as an intrinsic dielectric layer while the conjugated backbone provides the charge-transport pathway. This covalently bridged organic semiconductor/dielectric interface reduces interfacial defects and suppressing leakage current. The resulting bottom-gate, top-contact organic field-effect transistors exhibit low hysteresis, low leakage current, and excellent low-voltage electrical performance.
