Graphical overview of on-chip audio-band two-mode squeezing in a silica microcavity. (IMAGE)
Caption
Kerr four-wave mixing generates paired quantum frequency modes, while a weak, pump-derived electro-optic reference comb co-propagates in an orthogonal polarization and is detected separately, enabling phase-stable coherent-comb control without placing a direct locking tone on the quantum modes. The experiment reaches a lowest verified sideband frequency of 60 Hz, measures -1.03 dB of squeezing (-1.73 dB inferred on chip), and verifies entanglement with a minimum symplectic eigenvalue of 0.395 ± 0.001 under the positive partial transposition criterion, below the separability threshold of 0.5.
