Loss of NSF disrupts brain development and leads to ADHD-like behaviors (IMAGE)
Caption
The study shows that the deletion of N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor (NSF), a protein that helps brain cells communicate, from specific brain cells can induce ADHD-like changes in mice, including changes in brain development, lower dopamine levels, increased activity, and impulsive-like behavior in mice. Treatment by combining methylphenidate and quinpirole reduced these behaviors.
