Why Laser-Reduced Graphene Oxide Fails Sooner (IMAGE)
Caption
Laser reduction does not simply reverse oxidation. Instead, it selectively removes epoxide groups while leaving vacancy defects behind, producing a chemically distinct material with significantly shorter fatigue lifetime. The work reveals that the chemical identity of defects, rather than their density alone, governs fatigue degradation in graphene oxide.
