Health and kinesiology professor Sandraluz Lara-Cinisomo led a study that explored how postpartum pain and depressive symptoms affected women’s recovery after childbirth. The findings are being used to develop an intervention for women at high risk of caesarian sections and postpartum depression that will help clinicians monitor their recovery and intervene if the system alerts them to possible problems.
