Non-hydrothermal fabricated sodalite microspheres (GXU-SODs) for integrated adsorption and lattice immobilization of radioactive Cs+ and Sr2+ (IMAGE)
Caption
The GXU-SODs are prepared via a non-hydrothermal geopolymer oil-drop method, which can efficiently capture Sr2+ and Cs+ through ion exchange and chemisorption. After calcination at 1100 °C, the adsorbed radionuclides are embedded into the crystal lattice of nepheline and pollucite phases. The normalized leaching rates of Sr2+ and Cs+ meet the safety standard of radioactive waste disposal, achieving permanent immobilization.
