Ibn Zamrak at the Mirador de Lindaraja (IMAGE)
Caption
Detail of the poetic inscriptions by Ibn Zamrak in the Mirador de Lindaraja, a richly decorated chamber with two arched windows overlooking the Patio (Court) of Lindaraja, a garden courtyard within the Alhambra. Ibn Khaldun drew on first-hand experience when illustrating aspects of his social and political theories. His diplomatic dealings and correspondence with both Muslim and Christian rulers in Iberia, reflected in his writings, testify to his intimate knowledge of the political realities of his age.
