Effect of active fluctuations on Transferrin internalization. (IMAGE)
Caption
(a) In the absence of active fluctuations, passive diffusion of transferrin (Tf) molecules forms less ligand-receptor complex, leading to less internalization of Tf. (b) In the presence of active fluctuations, diffusion of Tf molecules is enhanced, leading to more ligand-receptor complex formation, which increases internalization of Tf.
