Building a 3D chemical image from multiple illumination angles.

The living-cell sample was illuminated from 11 different angles while being irradiated with mid-infrared light and while not. The photothermal signal from the mid-infrared light being absorbed was obtained by calculating the difference between the on/off states and used to reconstruct a 3D image.
