NASA-NOAA's Suomi NPP satellite passed the Gulf of Mexico on Sept. 18 at 3:40 a.m. EDT (0740 UTC) and captured a night-time image of Tropical Depression 22, centered in the Gulf of Mexico, east of northern Mexico.
