Scientists Build a Synthetic Cell System (IMAGE) U.S. Army Research Laboratory Caption An Army research project at UMass Amherst takes advantage of differences in electrical charge to create an "all aqueous," water-in-water construct that achieves compartmentalization in a synthetic biologic system. This research could lead to materials that provide new avenues to deliver medicine, treat wounds, and purify water for Soldiers.
