'Temperature T Versus External Magnetic Field B' Phase Diagrams (IMAGE)
Caption
In (a), the quantum-critical point is shown (cyan bullet). The system undergoes a phase transition when the external magnetic field reaches a certain critical value. In (b), the hypothetical quantum-critical point for B=0 and T=0 is shown (red bullet). The red-shaded gradient represents the role played by the mutual interactions between neighboring magnetic moments, which become increasingly relevant as the temperature decreases.
