Candice Brown (left), a researcher with the West Virginia University School of Medicine and Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute, is exploring the role that a specific enzyme plays in protecting the brain from stroke and the effects of aging. The National Institute on Aging is awarding WVU $2,687,415 for the five-year project. Here she is working with Sneha Gupta, a former School of Medicine student at the Erma Byrd Biomedical Research Building.
