A bioinstructive scaffold (white) produces and releases genetically reprogrammed T cells that target and destroy a growing tumor.

These implantable scaffolds incorporate viruses and signaling factors in order to quickly and efficiently produce immunotherapeutic CAR-T cells. This technological breakthrough transforms a process that take weeks and costs hundreds of thousands of dollars into an affordable technique taking only a few hours. After implantation, the scaffolds activate, genetically transform, expand, and release CAR-T cells within the subject.
