In a study of mice, scientists at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai showed how a newly discovered group of bone-bordering cells, may play an important role in shaping a skull during early development. Here is a picture of bordering cells (red dots) squeezed between two skull bone plates from a young mouse.
