Nuclear Pore Complex (IMAGE)
Caption
A new mechanism has been determined using supercomputer simulations for the passive transport of biomolecules through the nuclear pore complex. These apertures perforate the otherwise iron-clad membrane and act like crossing guards for protein traffic in and out of the nucleus. Side view shown of the simulation systems.
