Berti Sivertsen, educational leader at Berg Kindergarten in Trondheim, professor Mila Vulchanova and Ellen Saxlund, lecturer at a lower secondary school in Bærum with some of the stuffed animals they use to help assess language comprehension and proficiency. For example, teachers or others conducting an assessment perform different actions with the monkey, like making it jump, and then ask the child to tell them what it’s doing. The assessors are looking for the child to identify the action and use the correct verb.
