Illustration of enhanced CD sensing signal difference in UV-visible- NIR, and MIR regimes. For UV-visible- NIR wavelengths, the molecular signal (blue curve) after removing the background signal indicates the molecular chirality, such as (S)-1-phenylethylamine and (R)-1-phenylethylamine. For MIR wavelengths, apart from the wavelength shift, vibrational transition of molecules is also observed. The relevant VCD signal could provide both vibration and chirality information, such as amide I vibration and secondary structures of proteins.
