Researchers from TUS, Japan have synthesized tanzawaic acid B, a promising antibiotic drug candidate, on gram scale, artificially for the first time by utilizing intramolecular Diels-Alder reaction, asymmetric alkylation, and asymmetric Mukaiyama aldol reaction.
