Caulobacter crescentus is a crescent-shaped dimorphic bacterium that serves as one of the primary model organisms to study bacterial cell cycle regulation, cell differentiation, and morphogenesis. The cells were visualized using the DNA-PAINT technique, with the chromosomal DNA stained blue and the cell membranes stained red.
