Global-scale coastal/inland drought detection, spatiotemporal metrics, and associated temperature anomaly-based drought classifications. (IMAGE)
Caption
The upper panel displays the mean centroid locations (A), examples of Inland/Coastal type grouping (B), genesis locations and migration patterns (C) regarding global-scale meteorological drought events detected using the 3D DBSCAN-based workflow. The lower panel displays the typical temperature anomaly-based classifications of the three well-recognized meteorological drought events (D). Also, the temporal evolutions (E) and the grid cell-based distribution (F) of four general categories of drought events (i.e., Hot-, Cold-, Normal-, and Hybrid-types) are investigated.
