Book Announcement

Bentham Science Publishers

This eBook, entitled “Recent Advances in Molecular and Translational Medicine: Updates in Precision Medicine” edited by Dr. Somchai Chutipongtanate and Professor Suradej Hongeng, describes essential information of molecular and translation research in precision medicine which dedicated to the care of children. One of the disruptive innovations with a fast-evolving pace in the healthcare ecosystem is precision medicine. Precision medicine enables precise diagnosis and targeted treatment by considering individual variability in the abnormalities of causative genes and molecular drivers. A vast amount of data created by advanced Omics technologies is a foundation of precision medicine’s success, and their implications would potentially improve clinical outcomes. This eBook provides an accessible introduction to Omics technologies, gives a detailed explanation of bioinformatics workflows to interpret high-throughput Omics profiles for molecular diagnosis, and collects some of the cutting-edge research for precise therapeutics. This eBook is a valuable resource for postgraduate students, researchers, and clinicians interested in precision medicine, and professionals in the field of pediatrics; Data scientists working in medical informatics.

About the Editor:

Dr. Somchai Chutipongtanate is a Ph.D. (Dean’s List), M.D. (Hons.) and has a Board Certificate in Pediatrics. Dr. Somchai Chutipongtanate is interested in the molecular basis responsible for a variety of disease phenotype and treatment consequences. His research ranges from basic laboratory experiments, clinically relevant analytical studies and data science using R-programming. He harmonizes his experience in various fields to deciphering the precise role of protein expression profiles and posttranslational modifications in disease states, aiming to identify actionable therapeutic molecules that changes patient outcomes. He also works in collaboration with scientists, clinicians and bioinformaticians in the areas of mesenchyme stem cell-derived extracellular vesicles, regulatory T cell immunotherapy, proteomic in various models and computational drug discovery using connectivity map.
