The American College of Cardiology’s fourth annual ACC Quality Summit kicks off on Wednesday, September 14 in Los Angeles. The conference will provide participants with NCDR registry-specific knowledge and foster a deeper understanding of the value of accreditation and how patient data can drive process improvement initiatives. With its hybrid format, the Summit will bring together cardiovascular thought leaders, clinicians and stakeholders across the U.S. to discuss best practices for designing, leading and achieving quality care.
“The Quality Summit team is very excited to be meeting face-to-face in Los Angeles while maintaining engagement with a broader audience through our hybrid format,” said David E. Winchester, MD, MS, FACC, program chair for ACC Quality Summit. “The program this year is full of engaging content on ACC’s accreditation services and registries, including thought-provoking general sessions on CV service delivery in the wake of COVID-19, the future of the NCDR, and incorporating patient-reported outcomes and social determinants of health in CV services.”
Frederick Masoudi, MD, MSPH, MACC, will present the Opening Plenary Session and Ralph G. Brindis Keynote Address, “Past, Present and Future Direction of NCDR and Accreditation Services.” During this session, Masoudi will summarize the contributions of the NCDR and ACC Accreditation Services as part of continued efforts towards advancing patient-centered care for patients with cardiovascular diseases and addressing the challenges of the evolving U.S. health care system.
During the three-day meeting, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on educational workshops, network and share best practices with colleagues from across the U.S. and gain insights and inspiration from cardiovascular thought leaders. All sessions will focus on four main topic areas:
- The present and future directions of NCDR and ACC Accreditation Services
- Best practices in cardiovascular care
- Leadership roles in quality improvement
- How to measure success to improve patient outcomes
