Multi-Objective Optimization in Theory and Practice is a simplified two-part approach to multi-objective optimization (MOO) problems.

This second part focuses on the use of metaheuristic algorithms in more challenging practical cases. The book includes ten chapters that cover several advanced MOO techniques. These include the determination of Pareto-optimal sets of solutions, metaheuristic algorithms, genetic search algorithms and evolution strategies, decomposition algorithms, hybridization of different metaheuristics, and many-objective (more than three objectives) optimization and parallel computation. The final section of the book presents information about the design and types of fifty test problems for which the Pareto-optimal front is approximated. For each of them, the package NSGA-II is used to approximate the Pareto-optimal front.

It is an essential handbook for students and teachers involved in advanced optimization courses in engineering, information science and mathematics degree programs.

About the Author: Prof. Andre A. Keller

Prof. Andre A. Keller received a Doctorat d'Etat (Ph.D.) in Economics/Operations Research from the University of Paris I Pantheon-Sorbonne in 1977. He has carried out research studies on methods for regional and domestic macroeconomic analysis and forecasting by organizations such as with CNRS research groups of French universities. At the same time, he taught at several universities and colleges of higher education. He is, at present, an Associate Researcher of the CRISTAL Research Center of the University of Lille in FRANCE.

Prof. Andre A. Keller's publications involve articles and books. The most recent book chapters were on stochastic differential games (Nova Science, 2009), fuzzy control (In Tech, 2009). A recently published book was entitled "Time-Delay Systems with Applications to Economic Dynamics & Control" (Lambert Academic Publishing, Saarbrucken, Germany 2010). Another published book addressed the "Mathematical Optimization Terminology: A Comprehensive Glossary of Terms" (a publication of Elsevier/Academic Press 2017). The first part of "Multi-Objective Optimization in Theory and Practice I: Classical Methods" was published in 2017 (Bentham Science Publishers, Sharjah UAE).

Prof. Andre A. Keller is a member of the American Association for Science and Technology (MSCIT). He reviewed numerous scientific papers for international journals of major publishers such as Elsevier, Hindawi, Springer, World Academic Publishing, World Scientific, and WSEAS Press. He obtained Best Paper Awards, notably for American Mathil0 at Harvard University, Cambridge, MA. He is, at present, Principal Editor of the Journal of Computational and Applied Mathematics by ELSEVIER.
