Brain care score strongly correlates with risk of cardiovascular disease and three most common cancers worldwide

A new study from researchers at Mass General Brigham has found that a higher McCance Brain Care Score not only associates with the risk of brain-related conditions such as stroke, dementia, and depression but also strongly associates with developing cardiovascular disease and three common types of cancer.

New study finds Transcendental Meditation may significantly reduce cardiovascular events in high-risk Black adults

A newly published randomized controlled trial in Frontiers in Medicine has found that the practice of Transcendental Meditation^® (TM) may significantly reduce the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) in Black men and women at high risk for heart disease. The study compared TM with a standard health education (HE) program and found a 65% relative risk reduction in cardiovascular events over a 5-year period among those who practiced TM.

Inherited genetic trait predicts resistance to immunotherapy for deadly skin cancer

Tests in 1,225 patients with the most deadly form of skin cancer reveal for the first time a genetic trait among most of those who did not respond to the latest cancer treatments, known as immune checkpoint inhibitors. Metastatic melanoma, as the disease is formally named, kills nearly 10,000 Americans annually.
