Reconstructing the AMOC

Caption

To reconstruct the AMOC, researchers looked at air-sea heat fluxes, which is the exchange ofheat from the ocean to the atmosphere. When the AMOC is stronger, more heat is released from the ocean to the atmosphere over the North Atlantic.
