Caption

MARTHA ("Multiwavelength Atmospheric Raman Lidar for Temperature, Humidity, and Aerosol Profiling") is the largest and oldest lidar at TROPOS in Leipzig. It emits laser light at three wavelengths (355, 532 and 1064 nanometres) and collects the backscattered light with a large primary mirror 80 centimetres in diameter.
