Samples of polyethylene oxide (PEO), left, and the polymer blend known as p5 in a lab at the Aero-Propulsion, Mechatronics & Energy building. The two polymers were blended in different proportions, and their ability to mix was studied by measuring several properties of the blends. The blended polymers are a promising component in safe, solid-state batteries.
