Retinal scans in mice show normal blood vessels that are evenly spaced and well-organized (left). Scans of mice with the MTHFR677C>T  mutation show blood vessels that more often cross over each other in unusual ways (center, marked in yellow) and more twisted or tortuous vessels (right, marked in yellow).
